How to Join an Expedition

1.  Start by reading the expedition description and  What To Expect to determine if an expedition is a good match for you.

2.  If you have any questions, contact us via the information request form or email us at info@russianfolklorefriends.org.

3.  Go to the Expedition Forms page and download the Volunteer Application Form, the Participant Agreement, and the Self-Report Health Statement.  These forms must be completed, signed, scanned and emailed as attachments to info@russianfolklorefriends.org, or you may email us for a fax number.  Your $500 deposit is also due at this time.  (Please see mailing address below.)

4.  Once your application has been accepted, we will cash your check and your $500 deposit becomes non-refundable.  We will contact you about visa and travel arrangements.  At this point, you should see your physician and have the Physician's Health Statement completed.  (The Physician's Health Statement is also downloadable from the Expedition Forms page.)

5.  All forms and the balance of the Expedition Fee are due 60 days before the expedition.  If you cancel your participation in an expedition within 60 days of the expedition departure date, the expedition fee is non-refundable and will be considered a charitable donation.

6.  If a volunteer wishes to join an expedition and it is less than 60 days before the expedition departure date AND there is space available on the expedition, participation may be possible.  If participation is approved, you will be charged an additional $100 late processing fee.

All deposits and expeditions fees should be mailed to:
